 Buffalo NY natives, Damian and Jermaine Johnson created and launched No Grease, Inc. in June 1997. No Grease, Inc. is a company dedicated to the hair and other personal care business. The company’s mission is to provide consumers with the opportunity to have multiple grooming needs met in one location with unequaled quality and fast service.
Later, the twin brothers would be joined with like minds and trail-blazers in the industry Michael Bennett, Charlie Petty, and Andre Williams. Together the five principals would grow No Grease, Inc. into one of the leading service providers of men and women’s personal grooming and cosmetology services in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. The company has evolved into a popular, profitable, and financially stable chain of full service barber and beauty salon operations and it also operates a barber school called No Grease School of Tonsorial Arts.
No Grease, Inc. “Is Not Your Ordinary Barbershop”, what was once a two person barber shop has grown into 50 service providers, with three full service barber shop locations, a salon and day spa, a barber college, “The Show” (hair, fashion, & music), Monday night bible study, Metrolina AIDS project sponsors, speaking engagements at area high schools, colleges and other community events. No Grease, Inc. has raised the bar! In 2005, No Grease Inc. received the Black Political Caucus “Business Award” for their efforts in business and the community-at-large. Recently, No Grease Inc. has received the 2008 Lowe's Pride Business Service Award and released the new book titled “Urbanpreneurship” authored by the Johnson brothers.
The principals of No Grease recognize that their success is not solely on talents and efforts, but Christian principals that the company was founded and grounded on from its Genesis.
